The tips of the internal cable knives are titanium nitride-coated. Titanium nitride is vaporized onto the cutting blade in the vacuum chamber at approx. 500 degrees C using the PVD process.
Due to the reduced surface structure and extremely high hardness, excellent sliding properties and high wear and abrasion resistance are achieved. TiN-coated blades can be used with significantly higher durability and cutting performance.
