The standby charger Pro 12V (MPN 3063) from Votronicis used for automatic recharging and charge retention of the starter battery in vehicles with two battery circuits. In contrast to the conventional StandBy-Charger, the StandBy-Charger Pro has an adjustable undervoltage limit at the input, which prevents the battery from draining completely. If the input battery is charged via a mains charger, a solar system or similar, the output battery is charged with max. 8 A to the previously set voltage.
The charge retention works automatically and can be recognized by an increased voltage level of the starter battery. The charger is connected between the input and output battery and has two independent 12V control inputs: "EN" for activation and "DIS" for deactivation. The adjustable cut-off wave of 12-14V prevents deep discharge of the battery connected on the input side. Using the StandBy-Charger can significantly extend the service life of the battery.

Compared to the 3065 or 6065 StandBy-Charger
Modern lithium (LiFePO4) batteries have a significantly higher open-circuit voltage compared to starter batteries (lead, AGM). When using simple, unregulated and uncontrolled standby chargers, this leads to the complete discharge of the lithium supply battery. For this reason, the StandBy-Charger (item no. 3065 or 6065) is unfortunately not suitable for these. The Votronic StandBy-Charger Pro, on the other hand, has an adjustable undervoltage limit at the input. Charging is interrupted if the voltage falls below this limit. This means that it can be operated on a modern lithium (LiFePO4) battery as a supply battery without any problems and without running the risk of draining it completely.
