The wireless KO gas combination detector 433 Mhz represents a new generation of gas detectors. It is handy and small(75x55x28mm, about the size of a pack of cigarettes), but full of the latest technology.
Detects gases and hazardous vapors such as
- Propane
- butane
- natural gas
- town gas
- narcotic gas
- methane
- Nitro thinner
- gasoline
- ether
- alcohol
- Adhesive vapors etc.
Runs via USB-C, a 3m connection cable and a 230V to USB-C adapter are included.
(It can also be plugged directly into a USB socket in the camper)
the combi detector-433not only reports a gas alarm, butalso
reportswhen the ambient air isOK again. This provides double safety.
The Combi Alarm Detector-433 is operated withmains power from a 5V DC power supply(smartphone charger), aemergency batteryis included, whichbridges apower failure for up to 4 hours.
The power consumption is 200 mAh. The alarm triggering can be set between 100 and 10,000 ppm (particles per million), making it possible to set the triggering threshold as required.
Important installation instructions for gas detectors
Correct installation is the most important prerequisite for reliable operation. Particular attention must be paid to the properties between the gases. Select the installation location that corresponds to the type of gas that could occur on site. For combination gas detectors and the aim of monitoring different gases, it is advisable to install them at medium room height, approx. 1 -1.5 m above the floor.
The suppliers add an odorant to the gas so that escaping gas is detected as early as possible, but the sense of smell is switched off when we are asleep, which is why gas detectors are so important.
Priority should always be given to the installation height that best meets the desired monitoring objective.
An example:
You use propane gas in your caravan and install a combination smoke detector for propane gas and CO gas. Since propane gas is the primary source of danger, but the beds are at a height of approx. 60-80 cm above the floor, the gas detector should be installed at a height of approx. 50 cm above the floor (average height between 30 cm for pure propane gas detectors and 1 m for pure CO gas detectors). CO gas is about as heavy as air and is therefore distributed almost evenly in the air. The gas detector for detecting propane and CO gas can therefore be installed at this height.
Natural and town gas:
These gases are lighter than air and therefore rise to the ceiling, which is why they should be installed at a height of around 30-50 cm below the ceiling. The distance to the source of danger should not be more than six meters.
Liquid gas such as propane, butane, anaesthetic gas:
These gases are heavier than air and sink to the floor in living spaces and camping vehicles. They must therefore be installed at a maximum height of 30 cm above the floor. The distance from the source of danger should not be more than 3 - 4 meters.
- CO gas (carbon monoxide)
- CO gas is odorless, invisible and highly toxic. This is what makes CO gas so dangerous.
- CO detectors should ideally be installed in closed rooms at a height of approx. 100 cm above the floor, at a maximum distance of 3 - 4 meters from the source of the fire.
- CO gas spreads is fairly evenly distributed in the air, which is why it can be installed in areas between 50 cm and 150 cm above the floor.
General information:
Do not install the gas detector near doors, windows or extractor hoods, as the actual gas content of the air cannot be reliably measured in their vicinity. Avoid placing it directly next to the gas source or in places with a high level of dust or humidity. Also make sure that the gas detectors cannot be reached by children / pets and that no paints, varnishes, solvents or cleaning agents are stored near them. Gas detectors are also triggered, for example, when hairspray is used, as the propellant gases from the spray can are also detected. Gases produced during baking can also trigger the gas detector. Please note that a combination gas detector is always a compromise to individual gas detectors specially designed for the respective gas.
