The Pro'sKit PD-510 is a handy utility knife with a 9-mm snap-off blade made of SK5 tool steel, a blade lock, and a blade breaker—the perfect knife for the many small cuts required during renovation: felt, carpet, cardboard, plastic film, rubber, leather, and cable insulation.
Which knife do you need? We carry three cutting tools, and they’re designed to do different things. The felt cutter with a hooked blade pulls the cut through the material from below—the top choice when you’re cutting long, clean strips in felt or carpet without nicking the surface underneath. The metal-handled scalpel is designed for the most precise work: cutouts, tight corners, model building. The PD-510 falls in between and is the all-around tool for everyday tasks—trimming, deburring, opening boxes, and scoring cable sheathing.
In a camper conversion, it’s the knife that’s always within reach: cutting felt and carpet to size, making cardboard templates, cutting heat-shrink tubing to length, trimming cable ties, carefully scoring cable jackets, cutting sealing tape and plastic sheeting, and opening packages. With a total length of 140 mm and its slim body, you can even reach into cabinet interiors and behind trim panels—places where a large utility knife would normally be needed.
Whencutting felt, it’s best to work on a cutting mat and use a fresh blade segment—felt doesn’t forgive a dull blade; it pulls threads instead of making a clean cut.
Blade, lock, and blade breaker. The blade is made of SK5 tool steel with a high carbon content and is divided into 9-mm segments. The slider locks into place and holds the blade at the set length. If a segment becomes dull, you snap it off using the end piece at the rear—which also serves as a safety lock and locks automatically. A second blade is stowed in the base of the handle, so you have a spare with you right from the start.

Frequently Asked Questions
What materials can I cut with this?
The manufacturer lists cardboard and paper, plastic, rubber, carpet and felt, leather, thin composite panels, and stripping thin wires—in other words, soft to medium-hard materials up to about 3 mm thick. It is not suitable for solid wood, hard plastics, sheet metal, or thick cables.
Do standard 9-mm blades fit?
Mechanically, yes—that’s the standard 9-mm size.
Can the blade be locked in place?
Yes. The slider locks into place in increments and holds the blade at the selected length. For clean, controlled cuts, only extend as much of the blade as you really need.
Is this a professional knife for continuous use?
Pro’sKit classifies the PD-510 as a small, affordable entry-level model—and that’s exactly what it’s good for: lightweight, easy to handle, and always at hand.
