Dimensionally stable felt for flat surfaces—Made in Italy
Potosi is a needle-punched felt made of 100% polyester with a backing. It’s precisely this backing that makes it stiff: it doesn’t stretch, doesn’t wrinkle, and stays exactly where you cut it. This makes it the counterpart to our stretchable felts—and the top choice wherever a clean, smooth surface is needed.
The difference between Wooly and 4-Stretch—which felt do you need?
- Potosi Felt (this product): stiff and dimensionally stable, non-stretchable. For flat surfaces, cut pieces with clean edges, and anything that will be subjected to heavy use. 100% polyester.
- Wooly Felt – TWEED Natural Wool: flexible and stretchy, 90% virgin wool. For curves, wheel wells, and 3-D elements—and for anyone who wants a natural material with the feel of wool.
- 4-Stretch Felt: Extremely stretchy thanks to 4-way stretch, 96% recycled polyester, GRS-certified. The all-rounder for complex shapes and pronounced curves.
Here’s why you need Potosi in your camper
- Straight wall and ceiling surfaces: side walls, sliding door, tailgate, panels—apply it flat, and it stays wrinkle-free
- Drawers, pull-outs, and storage compartments: the cut pieces retain their shape, and the edges don’t fray
- Floor and cargo area: bed box, platforms, rear pull-out—robust and durable
- Furniture construction: Door fronts, back panels, and trim with clean, sturdy edges
- Acoustics: dampens rumbling behind panels and impact noise under the floor
- Damp corners: 100% polyester absorbs virtually no moisture—mold- and moth-resistant
Not suitable for: Wheel wells, severe curves, and 3-D shapes. Use Wooly or 4-Stretch instead.
Installation
In our workshop, we apply Potosi using Prime Fix high-strength spray adhesive. Spray both the felt and the thoroughly cleaned surface. Suitable for wood, plastic, metal, and Armaflex. Because the material retains its shape, it’s best to cut it with our felt cutter along a guide rail—this gives the cleanest edges.
Usable roll width: 1.5 m -> rolls are usually 2–3 cm wider.
1x order quantity = 1 m x 1.5 m. (1.5 square meters)
2x order quantity = 2 m x 1.5 m. (3.0 square meters)
3x order quantity = 3 m x 1.5 m. (4.5 square meters)
4x order quantity = 4 m x 1.5 m. (6.0 square meters)
5x order quantity = 5 m x 1.5 m. (7.5 square meters)
6x order quantity = 6 m x 1.5 m (9.0 square meters)
7x order quantity = 7 m x 1.5 m (10.5 square meters)
8x order quantity = 8 m x 1.5 m. (12 square meters)
9x order quantity = 9 m x 1.5 m (13.5 square meters)
Please note: If you order more than 9 times the order quantity—that is, more than 13.5 square meters—the felt will be cut at 13.5 square meters and rolled out from there. (A single package cannot hold more than that.) For in-store pickup, up to 100 square meters can be picked up in a single piece.
Shipping / Storage
We ship Potosi in rolls, not folded—this way, you won’t get crease marks in the material. Especially with a dimensionally stable felt, folded edges would remain permanently visible.
