Orion XS 12/12V - 50Amp DC/DC charger was developed and defines adaptive DC-DC charging. For use in dual battery systems that are charged with an (intelligent) alternator.

According to Victron, up to 21mm2 can be installed. We have tested it, 25mm2 also works well.
Cable cross-sections:
For the 6m version with 16mm2 cable, a maximum of 5m may be installed from the starter battery to the body battery, the other meter is from the charging booster to the body battery. Otherwise, please take the 8m version with 25mm2 cable, which can be driven up to 10m at a time.

Precisely set the input and output current with simple controls. This helps to protect alternators from overload and charge the service battery correctly, especially with smart alternators.
An unlimited number of Orion XS devices can be connected in parallel. This makes it easy to scale the output current to the requirements of your system. The Orion XS has customizable charging algorithms and 8 preset battery modes. For lead-acid batteries, these settings ensure optimal absorption times for both low and deep discharges. The Orion XS is equipped with comprehensive electronic protection against overload, short circuit and overtemperature. To prevent damage to lithium batteries, the charger switches off automatically at low temperatures and when the input voltage falls below a user-configurable cut-off value.
It thus protects the starter battery from deep discharge.
