Our Alubutyl has a strong surface adhesion and no bitumen odor. We have improved the quality in many respects:
- Our ABX is odorless and self-adhesive.
- The stickiness and sound insulation surpasses all comparable products due to the material mix and the high weight of 3.5 kg / m².
- The edge does not stick together because the aluminum and silicone paper overlap.
- Both ends are also protected against sticking. Roll in plastic foil + cardboard packaging. Our aluminum + butyl thickness ratio has proven to be optimal.
- Processing is already possible from 5° Celsius
- Dimensions 0.4 x 5.0 meters = 2 m², thickness 2 mm. Weight of one m² = approx. 3.5 kg
- The 2 m² are sufficient for 2 car doors and usually also for smaller rattles
For optimum adhesion, we recommend preparing the surface to be covered:
- Free of dust, oil and grease.
- Lightly sand water-repellent surfaces (lotus effect).
- Improve initial adhesion by heating to 20-40°. Alubutyl and ISO composite mats should be stored at 15-30° for 1 day.
- Press on Alubutyl with a wallpaper roller. Press ISO mats firmly by hand.
International Material Data System entry available.
- Please make sure to wear work gloves as the hard foil is very sharp-edged.
- Alubutyl is not approved by any vehicle manufacturer for the engine compartment.
The insurance company could therefore refuse to pay in the event of a claim.
A better and cheaper product for damping and soundproofing is currently hard to find on the market. Do not buy any insulating films containing petroleum or asphalt! This stuff stinks like mothballs in your car. Please bear in mind that the insulating layer is not completely covered if you use it to bridge gaps in the sheet metal, for example.
